  26. These files will update version 3.1.1 of Ray Dream Designer for Macintosh/PPC to version 3.1.2.

  40. 3.1.2 Updater includes the following fixes:
  41.  
  42. QuickTime™ 2.0 incompatibility.
  43. Network protection defect.
  44. Quit while rendering a scene defect.
  45. Various localized defects in the modelers.
  46. Basic Shaders defects in the Wood and Marble Natural Functions.

  48. Use one of the following updaters depending on the current size of the Ray Dream Designer® 3.1.1 application which you plan to update:

  50. To find the size of your current application:
  51. • Click on the Ray Dream Designer® 3.1.1 application icon
  52. • Select the Get Info item in the File menu
  53. • The size is displayed on the second line of the information window.

  55. If your application size of is  around 5,373 KB use the RDD 3.1.1–>3.1.2 Updater (FAT)
  56. If your application size of is  around 2,916 KB use the RDD 3.1.1–>3.1.2 Updater (68K)
  57. If your application size of is  around 3,204 KB use the RDD 3.1.1–>3.1.2 Updater (PPC)

  60. To update Ray Dream Designer® 3.1.1 simply proceed with these two simple steps:
  61.  
  62. 1) Copy the new Basic Shaders extension into your Required Extensions folder. In order to do this you must:
  63. • Open the Ray Dream Extensions folder which is within the Ray Dream Designer folder on your hard drive.
  64. • You should now see a folder called Required Extensions.
  65. • Drag the new Basic Shaders file from the floppy disk into this Required Extensions folder.
  66. • The system will post a warning message that an older item named "Basic Shaders" already exists in this location. Click OK.
  67. • This has replaced the old Basic Shaders extension with the new update.

  69. 2) Update your current version of the application. In order to do this you must:
  70. • Select the Updater that is right for you based on the current size of the Ray Dream Designer® 3.1.1 application which you want to update.
  71. • Double click on the selected Updater icon to launch the updater application.
  72. • Select the Ray Dream Designer® 3.1.1 application in the list, click on the Update button to start the update process.
  73. • Upon successful completion of updating your Ray Dream Designer® from 3.1.1 to 3.1.2, you with see a dialog stating the updating is complete. At this point please click on the OK button to complete the update process.

  75. Note: The Ray Dream Designer® 3.1.1 version was not deleted but simply placed in the Macintosh trash can. You might want to launch the new 3.1.2 version of Ray Dream Designer® before emptying the trash can.
